Editorial Policy

Vowels publishes nutrition education. The standard is evidence a reader can check.

Evidence before opinion

A lesson starts from a documented finding, a label, or a public data set. Opinion is labeled as interpretation.

Sourcing

Major statistics name the source, the population, and the time period. Links go to the original agency or journal when one is public. A number without a source does not go on the homepage.

Corrections

When a fact is wrong, Vowels corrects the page and notes the change. Send corrections to info@vowels.org.

Conflicts

Staff and contributors disclose financial relationships that a reader would reasonably want to know, including relationships with food companies, funders, and technology partners. A conflict is disclosed. It does not get to set the finding.

Advertising and donor independence

Sponsors and donors do not edit educational conclusions. Sponsored material is labeled. A gift does not buy a claim about a product.

Health claims

Vowels does not promise that a food, a meal pattern, or a gift will treat or prevent disease. Education describes what research and guidance say, and where the limits are.

Education, not medical advice

Lessons are for the public. They do not diagnose, prescribe, or replace a clinician. The health disclaimer applies to every page.
